1. On April 14 (Monday), Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Tae-yul exchanged congratulatory letters with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt Badr Abdelatty to commemorate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and the Arab Republic of Egypt.
※ Korea and Egypt established diplomatic relations on April 13, 1995.
2. In his letter, Minister Cho highlighted the progress in the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries across various fields since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1995. He also expressed his hope to see bilateral cooperation further strengthen based on the Comprehensive Cooperative Partnership established in 2016. Recalling the active presence of Korean companies operating in Egypt, Minister Cho conveyed his expectation that exchanges between the two countries will be further expanded on the occasion of the 30th anniversary.
3. In his congratulatory letter, Minister Abdelatty likewise expressed his pleasure in celebrating the 30th anniversary, calling it a significant milestone in the history of bilateral cooperation. He highly appreciated the strong partnership built over the past three decades in diverse areas including the economy, culture, development cooperation, and regional and global security, based on mutual respect and shared interests.
